Standing in solidarity

Ribbon stands in solidarity with the Black community — our customers, our partners, our team — in the fight against racial injustice.

A message from our founders, Shaival Shah and Jian Wei Gan

Dear Ribbon Community,

As we try to process the senseless and tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the many others whose lives have been cut short by racist violence, we want to reach out to you directly.

To our entire Ribbon community, we stand in solidarity with the Black community — our customers, our partners, our team — in the fight against racial injustice. The systemic racism and violence towards the Black community continues to be a severe breach of human and civil rights that violate the key principles in which Ribbon was formed. Ribbon is committed to building community, collaboration and inclusivity and we reject all forms of racism, bigotry and violence.

There is no place for discrimination in a world of belonging and community. As a Company driven by fighting inequalities in housing, we are taking a very hard look and committing action at what we can do to make a difference.

We are listening to our community carefully and while we don’t have all the answers, we have taken initial actions. To start, we are donating to Black Lives Matter, National Fair Housing Alliance and matching employee donations to racial justice organizations. We are creating employee resource groups to inspire discussion and voice and are re-assessing our products to design racial justice into our user experience. We believe fair representation is a powerful path to eliminate prejudice.

As a community, we find great joy and pride working in the service of others. We would enjoy all forms of feedback and recommendation as we build a brighter future together.

In Solidarity,

Shaival and Wei, Founders of Ribbon
